Description
A pair of cottages built in the nineteenth century as barracks for the workforce building the Cob (nprn 34165). After the opening of the Ffestiniog Railway (nprn 34660) in 1836, the building was used as stables. It was incorporated into what became Boston Lodge Railway Works (nprn 91422) following the introduction of steam locomotives in 1863. It is a tall, three-storey stone building under a hipped slate roof, with painted rendered elevations and is set on a boulder plinth.
