A boathouse was located on the north-west shore of Llyn Aled. It was shown on the first edition Ordnance Survey 25in map of 1875 on the edge of the lake at grid reference SH 91479 57631; on the 1913 edition the boathouse is shown slightly inland at SH 91463 57643, some 20m to the north-west. The lake has since been enlarged and both locations are below water level. A modern building, belonging to a sailing club, lies some 80m to the west.
