The larger and more westerley of the two built in 1617 (as recorded by a date inscription) as end-chimney, direct-entry, A-type house, extensively rebuilt as central stairway house with formally symmetrical main E elevation and added kitchen (ca.1800). Single storey house with loft to the E of the main house. Stable alongside to the N. Probably later modification of a small dower-house. Stable alongside 'dower-house' to the S: 19th century
