Description

Ruined cottage. A stone supposed to bear the impression of the Virgins foot was once kept here.

"It is said that a footprint can be found on the side of the road by Llam Maria cottage, in Ardudwy, and it is the footprint of a giantess who stepped in one large stride down from the top of Y Moelfre to that spot, and as her name was Mair, we call the place Llam Maria (Maria’s Stride). She gave one large stride from there to the top of Craig y Wenallt, by Llanbedr, and you can clearly see her footprint there. Sadly the stone by Llam Maria wasn’t spared when they were repairing the road through the parish of Llanenddwyn". Reference: Prosiect Treftadaeth Harlech ac Ardudwy. ‘Murddunnod Coll’, 2024.
