Description
A disused mineshaft, now water filled and fenced off for safety. The shaft was also partly obscured by reed growth. Development rock is piled up on the southeastern side of the shaft and spoil tip NPRN 285788 is evidently also derived from this working. The shaft is part of the Hyddgen lead mine, NPRN 303268 and was shown on the 1891 Ordnance Survey map and identified by the RCAHMW from an Ordnance Survey aerial photograph, frame number, 96/227-006. R.P. Sambrook, Trysor, 6 January 2006
