Blaen Carno has been identified by David Williams as a grange of the Cistercian abbey of Strata Marchella (Williams, D, 1990, Atlas of Cistercian lands of Wales, p.60, 95) and his map seems to coincide with Blaen Cerniog. During rapid field survey, no evidence of the grange was seen. J.J. Hall, Trysor, 15 January 2006
