The Oakeley Arms Hotel has eighteenth century or earlier origins when it was known as the Tanybwlch Inn. It was rebuilt in the nineteenth century and was probably renamed at that time. It is a substantial two storeyed building with cellars and is built of coursed local stone including massive stones as lintels; there is a slate roof with overhanging eaves and stone chimney stacks. Three wings, each with a three sided bay, project from the front or southwest elevation with single storey porch entrances between.
