Description
A huge, slightly curved, linear pit that is c.80m long by a maximum of 20m wide which tapers to c.5m wide. It is 4m deep and has been reused as a scrap metal dump. A later structure lies within (NPRN 287018). A spoil heap is situated to the north and is c.80m long and 1.5m high by c.5 m wide. It is shown as 'trial level' on the 1st Edition OS mapping and is also on the current OS mapping. P.J. Schofield, Oxford Archaeology North, 20th December 2005
