Description
A long linear pit that measures 80m long and tapers from 11m wide to 2m wide from north to south. It also tapers from 4m deep to 1.5m deep from north to south. The associated spoil heap lies to the south-east and is 40m long. It tapers from 5m wide to 10 m wide and from up to 6m high from north-west to south-east. It is shown as 'Trial Level' on the 1st Edition OS mapping and is also shown on the current OS mapping. P.J. Schofield, Oxford Archaeology North, 20th December 2005
