Description
A farmhouse with a complex building history, but basically comprising a 17th-century block aligned roughly N-S with a small cross wing to the W. At right angles to the N is a long, probably 18th-century, block, with later cartshed and bakehouse additions to the ends. One-and-a-half storeys of grey-brown stone with slate roofs and large stone chimneys. Doors and most window carpentry have been removed. Facing E are 3 dormer windows and a doorway with a small rectangular window to the L. To the rear, the cross wing has a large square stone chimney corbelled out at first floor level. The W side has a 20th-century brick addition. The N elevation of the N block has 2 large stone chimneys and 3 dormer windows (formerly with catslide dormers). The left end of this block has been extended with 2 large cartshed openings; the gable has stone stairs to the loft. To the right end is a lower bake house extension with a stone chimney to the right.
