Description
Cottage pair, the most complete of all the properties in southern row, 2nd from the west. Each measures 6.5m wide (north-west to south-east) by 5m front to back (north-east to south-west), the remaining walls stand to a maximum height of 2m. In the smaller of the two rooms two windows, one facing south-east the other north-west, can be seen. In addition there is a window opening on the front (south-east) wall of the north-east cottage along with a smaller window, measuring 0.3m wide, in the rear wall opposite it. Whilst both fireplaces are visible on the party wall, there is no evidence of any having been on the gable walls. The front doors are both visible but one of the front windows has been blocked with drystone and a piece of brick and, having only one jamb, no measurements could be taken. The platform to the south-east, in front of the cottages, is defined by a revetted drystone wall which extends the full width of the building and 4m to the south-east. Forms part of Treforys Village NPRN306319. Noted during an upland survey conducted by Archaeophysica during 2005-6
