Description
Carreghofa Lock Keeper's House is situated on south bank of Montgomeryshire Canal, abutting bridge No 95. It was built about 1819 when the first lock-keeper was appointed, and extended and improved later in the 19th century. It is a two-storey rubble cottage facing west with the gable end to the canal. It has a pitched slate roof and a tall brick stack. The two-window front has casement windows under (later) arched brick heads, and there is an offset gabled and trellised porch to the right with a finial.

There is a parallel brick and slate range to the rear, and a brick outhouse in the garden.
