Description
The farmhouse at Black Yatt, now in a ruinous condition. The house measured 12.5m northwest-southeast by 5m built of stone with yellow brick quoins using lime mortar. The south gable end still stood to nearly full height in March 2007but the others walls were much lower. Black Yatt was deserted by the mid-20th century. The house was blown up in the 1960s when it featured in a film about the Second World War ('It Happened Here', 1966) The black paint on the top of the south gable wall and the remains of the front wall relate to the filmimg.
