At this point, the Nantyglo to Llangattock quarries tramway ceases to be a metalled road, and remains of the original tramway are evident, in the form of 0.3m square blocks used to bed the rail sills, and raised lines of fine ballast across the track under the sills. The line of the tramway is generally around 3m wide, partially cut into the hillside, and in places causewayed using rubble.
