Upper pool is fan-shaped; it has a concrete weir curved in plan and profile, 6m wide. Lower pool, immediately below, is polygonal, with concrete weir of more angular form, 8m wide. The ponds are partly silted up. Water from this weir goes down behind building (NPRN293057). It later runs into pond (NPRN293054). The weirs are fed by a watercourse which runs under the road (see NPRN293059).
