Description
Cottage with surrounding enclosures shown on 1st edition of 25" Ordnance Survey map of 1875 (Denbighshire 16.03). The abandoned farmstead comprises two buildings, a cottage with a later barn/byre complex nearby. The cottage measures 9m NNE/SSW by 8m and 4m high and has two main rooms divided by a plastered wooden partition, with a croglofft above the SSW room. The entrance is on the ESE with flanking windows, and there is a lean-to style of addition on the WNW. The living room on the NNE has a large fireplace with an inserted cast-iron range and a bread oven. The roof is in poor condition and is simple timber trusses with a slate covering. The barn/byre measures 26m ENE/WSW by 8m and 6m high and lies to the E. It is of stone construction with brick quoins and a slate roof. The WNW end lies at right angles to the main alignment and includes a loose box with a hay loft on its upper floor. Other rooms run off to the ENE and are of single storyey only.
