Description
Likely mining prospection working. Gash cut into hillside 1.5m wide x 10m long. At downhill end low pile of quartzy stones extends a further 4m (this could be just clearance on to unusable land). Partly choked with stones, water standing in base. E side is neatly cut into slaty bedrock, W side rougher. Top edge also neatly cut into stone. Immediately uphill is pile of stones about 2m diameter, partly filling depression, max height 0.3m. Spoil area (low mound of small slaty stones under turf) approx. 10m diameter, with reduced grass growth (centred 310738 328310). (A.C.K. Roseveare & N.A.R. Vaughan, AP, 29/03/2007)
