Description
Rectangular platform built on slope, probably slate dressing floors. Walls 1m thick, drystone construction of mixed field stone. 9m N-S x 12m E-W internally. Walling remains to max 0.7m on W, S & N sides but no walling on E. This side of platform defined by retaining wall of slaty stone to level of platform. Likely entrance on W side by NW corner up to 1.5m wide, in line with trackway approaching from W. NE corner plan unclear. Annexe to W, 2.5m E-W x 7m N-S internally, divided into 2 cells each 2.5m x 3m. Walls 1m thick, mined slate. Plan partly unclear but external doorway in N cell identifiable. Site marked on 1964 OS map (A.C.K. Roseveare & N.A.R. Vaughan, AP, 29/03/2007)
