Description
Llyswen, Guilsfield, is an early and mid 17th century timber framed farmhouse. It is one storey and attic, with an added porch of 1650, over a lobby entry, a hall to the right with inner parlour and pantry, and heated chamber, and a possible kitchen. The porch is the most prominant feature standing to a height of 2 and a half storeys and embellished with twisted pilasters, a bay window and quatrefoil infilling of the panels. The date inscription is cut on the gable tie-beam and set between vine-leaves. There is post and panel partition to the inner rooms with doors at the ends, one with evidence for a shaped head and battened and boarded tudor arched oak doors.
