Slate extraction, probably choked shaft against cut outcrop. Ledge in hillside probably created by quarrying outcrop, 5m wide, up to 25m long (North-South). Waste slate tipped immediately downhill (East). Possible footpath leaves South end of platform, runs about 20m down South-East to meet path/ narrow track running along hill. (A.C.K.
