Pentre Evan is a farmstead composed of a 19th century farmhouse and a group of farm buildings. The main 2-storey barn is a surviving part of a once substantial Tudor homestead, built in the late 15th to early 16th century, probably by Sir James ab Owen.
In 1978 the farm was given to Urdd Gobaith Cymru and Canolfan yr Urdd Pentre Ifan was opened in 1992 as an educational centre.
