Description
A probably 16th century timber-framed building in origin with 17th century enlargements and 19th and 20th century alterations. At the junction of Oak Street an and Chapel Street Square, and is essentially a range set end on to the street with a cross range added near the rear and the corner to the front infilled.

It has a two storeyed front with a rendered gable to the right which has a mixture of applied black and white decoration and original trusses visible. The slate roof sweeps to the left over the rounded corner which is of whitewashed brick with applied timber decoration.

The ground floor has to the front a modern shopfront over which is a tw-light casement, and to the side a curved 19th century 3-light shop window with end pilasters, over which is a curved 6-pane sash window.
To the rear of the corner block is a diamond leaded window which is probably linked to the 17th? century cross-range with its gable to Chapel Street Square. The wall post is visible to the left, as are the bases of the principal trusses, and there is a broad modern window to the ground floor with a small pane sash window above.
The right hand side is built of rubble stone.

Internally the tie- and collar-beam roof trusses are exposed with queen struts and massive undercut and undulating purlins which appear to have been reused.
