Description
Roman marching camp at Pen-y-Coedcae is a rectagular enclosure, about 486m east-west by 330m, defined by a poorly preserved round angled bank and ditch, followed in part by current field boundaries: the camp is laid out across a rather uneven, often damp plateaux, its highest point apparently being the site of Pen-y-coedcae house, at the cente of its western rampart, suggesting that the camp faced east, towards the Taff valley.
