DescriptionNAR SH48NE2
The remains of a later prehistoric type settlement set on a prominent ridge above a line of crags on the north-west.
A near rectangular walled enclosure about 28-36m east west by at least 43m, possibly 56m. There are well defined remains of a 6.0m diameter roundhouse and two less well defined rectangular buildings. The various walls survive as tumbled banks up to 0.7m high.
The roundhouse was discovered to have a roughly paved floor which produced sherds of Roman pottery. Similar pottery was recovered from one of the rectangular buildings.
