Remains of a later prehistoric type roundhouse excavated in about 1930.
The roundhouse was found to be roughly 6.8-7.3m across internally with 2.0m thick stone founded walls. It had been clay floored with a stone mortar inset. Finds included Roman pottery and half a bronze signet ring.
The roundhouse was apparently overlain by fragmentary later walling. This extends some way to the south-west over an area about 25m across. It may in part be contemporary with the roundhouse - Roman pottery was found in a shellfish midden on its western side - although it is more likely to be comparatively recent - fragments of window glass were recovered from the roundhouse.
