DescriptionThe moat at Castell Henllys is an elongated, ovoid enclosure, about 180m east-west by at most 40m, tapering to the west, defined by scarps above what appears to be a modified oxbow lake, forming a moat of variable width, being up to 44m across on the east, some 20m wide on the north & 28-35m across on the south: the placename should be significant.
