DescriptionThe Company Shop, North Street, is a former Blaenavon Company Shop with ancillary buildings. There are outbuildings in the courtyard and front projection, the latter now minus its greater north-east shop, cheese room and flour room portion, these are shown on the OS 1880 edition map. The main 2-storey wing, or its substitute, are indicated on an OS 1813-17 field survey and a 1816 plan. An anonymous modern plan shows former usage of rooms in both front wings (now partly demolished and partly gutted), and in the rear yard buildings, the latter having been much altered and partly demolished, but of which there remain physical indications of their former appearance and usage.
