Description
The largest hillfort in the upper commote of Arwystli, occupying the summit and N flank of Dinas hill.
Resting on precipitous slopes to the SE, elsewhere discontinuous banks and ditches and extensive scarping define an enclosure, c.500m NE-SW by 160m, having a detached bank and ditch forming a main approach facade to the N.
The 'faerdre' element in the names of the nearby farms Fairdre Fawr (SN91648973) and Fairdre Fach (SN91949075), indicate the presence nearby of a medieval territorial centre.
