Description
Route of Roman road between Castell Collen (Nprn95708) & Caersws (Nprn92468), traced as far as Llwydiarth (SN98508095) by Toller (1997); road examined in section at Galnfeinion (SO01488602 - Silvester 1994 (AW34), 57): over the 6.0km gap between these points several possible sections can be noted (Nprn400991-3), although none appear probable.
Both of the named forts were occupied, albeit intermittently, from the late 70's AD through to the fourth century AD: the road does not connect with the possible fort site at Gaer Dolau (Nprn305839).
Source Toller 2000 (AC146 (1997)), 60-78.
Includes:
Section NW of Castell Collen (Nprn401232)
Segment at Ty-Letice (Nprn309523)
Segment at Banc Gelli-las (Nprn400375)
Llwyn-y-brain segment (Nprn400376).
