Description

The church, formerly chapel, of St Illtyd (Llanilltyd: nprn 549) lies within an earthwork enclosure complex, about 100m across. The chapel is set within a roughly oval embanked enclosure, about 40m across, having a south-east facing entrance; this lies in the south-western part of a roughly 80m across enclosure, largely followed by the current churchyard wall. There are indications that this greater enclosure originally enclosed the smaller, embanked enclosure.
