DescriptionAn early C19th, stone-built, slate-roofed low building set in a range with similar C19th kiln area to N-E and later cow-house to S-W in-line.
The central kiln is earlier than other buildings with boulder footings. Internally there are remains of a gable flue and rebates for supports to a former fire-hood. Originally there was an iron grill about 60 cm. from the floor, presumably with tile floor for corn and a fire under on the floor. The flue was also used by the adjacent kiln, both roof trusses being smoke-blackened.
The building below has been widened in brick and was last used as a cow-house with lateral feed-passage and tethering for 6 cattle.
