Description
A ditched, scarp-edge mound, c.23m in diameter and c.3.0m high.
Interpreted as a castle motte, whilst reports of a "tumulus" in the vicinity, opened in 1823, revealing a possible charnel pit, may suggest otherwise.

Cae Burdydd (NPRN 305711) The Coflein notes mention the possibility of this being a barrow, but that is most unlikely; the site is clearly a small, but well-formed motte on the edge of the Taff gorge, with traces of a silted-up ditch surrounding the mound on the landward approach.
