DescriptionA short distance to the north-east of the summit cairn of Carn y Bugail (NPRN 301283) lies a smaller cist-cairn. The stony mound measures 11m (north by south) by 10m and 0.6m high on the east. At its centre is an open cist aligned north-west by south-east and measuring 1.75m long by 1m wide, its exposed depth 0.5m. A large slab partly overlying it, the dislodged capstone, measures 1.95m by 1.4m. On the south-east quadrant of the mound are traces of a kerb in the form of inward-leaning edge-set slabs. The cairn may have been piled up around an outcrop exposure.
