Description
A ring cairn is located on open moorland in the fork of two adjoining tracks, a former Roman road (NPRN 401045) and a rough trail used by off-road vehicles. The enclosed area measures 7.8m (north by south) by 7.4m within an uneven and irregular low stony ring bank averaging 1.5m wide and rising to 0.25m high on the north where the ring appears to have been terraced into gently rising ground. The south edge of the ring bank has been damaged by the rutted trail. Just east of centre is a low stony mound 2.8m across and 0.15m high. The entire feature is turf covered.
