Description
A supposed building platform located amongst dense bracken could not be located. However, many quarry scrapes occur in the vicinity of the given NGR (OS) ref: SO10SW21.
From the OS description the 'platform' differs markedly from the other building platforms nearby, described as `unusually far below the crest of the hill for this type of earthwork?, and consisting of the south-west part of a house platform 6.6m wide. The spoil from the excavation for the terrace `lies in a mound on the downhill side.? Several similar features lie in the vicinity and the site is almost certainly a quarry feature similar to others on this part of the common.
