Y Gaer is a sub-rectangular enclosure, c.94m by 76m, having a distictive, concave entrance facade, with an annex extending c.71m to the north-east, both defined by banks and ditches, is set eccentricaly within a scarped enclosure, 278m by 112m, defined by double banks to the west.
