Former retail departmental store, now food shop only. Present building to design of Mr J. Morgan, architect, of Blaenavon, dates from 1928; a reconstruction of original stores built in 1893. The Blaenavon Co-operative Society was formed in 1889 and became the Blaenavon Industrial and Provident Society in 1926 (J Lewis & M Thomas, Blaenavon through the years in photographs, vol. 1 (Abertillery: 1987).
