Description
A tear-drop shaped enclosure is located on the S bank of the river, the tapering 'funnel' end close to the lip of the bank. It measures 26m long (N-S) by 9m within a wall of roughly coursed stones and small boulders, up to 1m thick and 1m high. Towards the N end of the W side is an entrance gap 1.5m wide flanked on its S side by a projecting boulder stone wall. The interior is peaty and stony with grasses and rushes.

The site is marked on both First and Second Edition OS 25 inch maps as Sheepfold and appears to be a fold into which sheep were gathered for sorting and washing.
