1. Oakwood Theme Park, the largest in Wales until 2025, was founded in the 1980s and developed through several stages and under different owners. In March 2025 its owner Aspro Parks Ltd announced that it would permanently close (see BBC 2025 link).
'The towering 24-metre-high (80ft-) high wooden rollercoaster, Megafobia, is the centrepiece of Oakwood leisure park west of Narberth. Oakwood is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Wales, attracting 400,000 visitors a year, and represents a new type of industry for the Daugleddau region, historically dominated by limestone quarries and coal workings.' (Driver 2007, 161).
2. Following closure, new detailed aerial photography of the theme park complex was completed by the Royal Commission from a light aicraft on 6th May 2025, including orbital oblique aerial photography suitable for photogrammetry.
