Description
St Theodore's church is located on the east side of the Sirhowy valley, on the B4251 at the south end of the settlement. It was built in 1925 to designs of architect W.A.Griffiths of Pontllanfraith, and is similar to designs oif E.M.Bruce Vaughan. It consists of long nave and lower chancel, gabled porch on north-west gable and lean-to north-east ?vestry. An intended north-east tower was not built. Inside, the nave roof trusses are unusually complex. Fittings include an immersion font in the south-west corner, a late example of this south Wales type. Stained glass includes work by Howard Martin of Celtic Studios.
