Description
Ebenzer (1) Independent chapel, Llangynog, was described in the 1851 Religious Census, as having been erected in 1834. It was closed in the late 19th century, when Ebenezer (2) wasbuilt by the bridge in Pentre, at the south approach to Llangynog. Ebenezer (1) or Pen-y-geulan chapel was subsequently converted to a house. It is shown as a chapel on the 1st edition of MY 4 SE (OS mapping). It is currently a stone-built, slate-roofed house, the roadside elevation with small 2-light casement window at eaves on the left, beside a 20th century corrugated lean-to porch wing to right of it. There is a double-fronted rear elevation with a centre doorway with lean-to porch, and flanking two-light, small-paned casement windows.

Status (2003): other (house).
