Description
NAR RR60a

Roman road from Caerleon (NPRN 95647), passing through Caerwent (NPRN 93753), as far as a crossing point on the Wye. This may have been located near to the present road bridge at Chepstow. Having crossed the border with the river, the road is thought to have headed for Gloucester, London and, ultimately, Rome and the fabled east.

A spur road (RR60aa) runs towards the Severn crossing.

The course of the road has been inferred from modern roads.

From Caerleon other roads are thought to head for Carmarthen (NPRN 307253) and Brecon (NPRN 306000).
