The Co-operative Wholesale Society opened a milk bottling plant in 1932; it was extended in 1935. The depot closed around 1969 and the site has since been built over with housing. The adjacent rugby ground is known as 'The Dairy Field' after the former milk depot and Llanharan RFC players are nicknamed 'The Dairymen'.
