Description
Located on the N side of a stream, and visible on APs, are the remains of a lead mine. The most visible element is a spoil mound which measures 12m (N-S) by 10m and 2m high. It is flat-topped and sparsely grass-covered. The mound lies at the S end of a long linear cut, densely rush grown, flanked on the E by a linear bank 14m long, 4m wide and 0.8m high. The cut peters out uphill towards the entrance to the mine which is now collapsed. Given the quantity of spoil, the mine tunnel would have penetrated the hill for some considerable distance. A building lies to the NE (NPRN308423).
