DescriptionA possible hillfort at Pen y Graig is partly preserved under field banks and partly revealed as soilmarks, commanding the western edge of a long ridge overlooking steep slopes and the Lleiriog valley to west. Air photography on 22 July 2003 showed a broad bank and outer ditch defining the west and northwest side of putative defences, preserved as substantial bank in hedgeline but ploughed over in one part revealing soilmarks. Cropmarks at nearby Pen-y-graig farm show valley bottom defended enclosure (NPRN 309079).
