A former Ministry of Agriculture Buffer Depot. These depots were usually a product of World War Two when food supplies were unreliable; many were brought back into use during the 1950s & 60s 'Cold War' period. This depot comprises a large rectangular warehouse, measuring some 65m by 37m, four Nissen huts to the north and west and an office, the whole site covering an area of 0.85ha. The Central Wales Railway (nprn 291119) borders the site to the southeast and it is likely that the depot was rail connected.
