The Grand Pavilion stands on Porthcawls curving esplanade, providing a centre-piece to the sea-side promenade. It is a 1930's building with a acentral, silver coloured, concrete dome and flanking single storey wings which camber outwards to embrace the bay. the pronounced symmetry of the building emphasises the tall central clock tower, and the double doorways below it. the main doors are approached from a wide forecourt, over three curving concrete steps inset with a terrazzo floor.
