Description

2. Large burial cairn, with prominent modern shelter constructed on its summit. Traces of a walled kerb survive around the base. Visited August 2023, T. Driver 2023

Cadw description: The monument comprises the remains of a burial cairn, probably dating to the Bronze Age (c.2300 BC - 800 BC) and situated in a prominent position on the SW-facing slopes immediately below the summit of Carnedd Dafydd. The stone built cairn is circular on plan and measures about 10.5m in diameter and up to 2m in height. The cairn has been disturbed in the past, with the construction of a central drystone shelter.
