DescriptionNAR SN13SE10
One of three cairns (see also NPRN 304056, 310449) found at the summit of Moel Trigarn at the centre of a titanic hillfort (NPRN 94948). The east cairn is roughly 22m in diameter & is in the region of 1.7-2.9m high. Although conventionally attributed to the Bronze Age, it is possible that these cairns are contemporary with the fort, perhaps acting as a focus for ritual or ceremonial activity.
The cairns are greatly disturbed, but have defied antiquarian excavation.
