Description
Designed in 1866 by C. E. Bernard and extended in 1890 by J. P. Jones, the Royal Hotel on St Mary's Street, Cardiff, is perhaps most famous for hosting the Farewell Dinner for Captain Scott's ill-fated Antartic Journey of 1910 - 1912. In the 1890s it was used as the club house of the Cardiff branch of the Catford Cycling Club. It remains in use as a hotel today.
